Using the Workspace Manager
The Workspace Manager lets you simulate other office productivity applications while using WordPerfect® Office 12. For example, you can simulate the Microsoft® Excel workspace while using Quattro Pro® 12. A workspace is the user's environment within an application. It encompasses the document window and all visible components of the application, such as menus, toolbars, and buttons. It also includes the application's keyboard shortcuts.
By letting you simulate an application that you may be more familiar with, the Workspace Manager reduces training costs and the time associated with learning a new application. For example, if you recently switched from Microsoft® Office, you may not be familiar with the keystrokes, menus, and toolbars of WordPerfect Office 12 applications.
While there are many similarities between the two suites, you may find it easier to simulate the Microsoft Office workspaces until you are more accustomed to working with WordPerfect Office 12. In an office environment, the Workspace Manager lets multiple users of the same computer easily switch back and forth between their preferred workspace.
The Workspace Manager positions WordPerfect Office 12 features, including toolbars and menu items, exactly where you would find the Microsoft Office equivalent. It also applies Microsoft Office keyboard shortcuts to WordPerfect Office 12 features — allowing you to quickly access the tools that you need.
WordPerfect Office 12 - Small Business Edition offers one-click access to the following workspaces:
Application | WordPerfect® 12 | Quattro Pro® 12 | Presentations™ 12 |
